If I’m not mistaken, every time you use the software there’s a notification about buying it. Then there are a lot of limitations like the total amount of data. So users wanting to make an epic game with hundreds of monsters, weapons, skills, etc will eventually have to buy the software.
For small games, this version is all the developer needs. I have not tried scripting but I did saw that there’s an additional script that supposedly puts a logo in the game. If you’ve followed the RPGMaker VX Ace when it came out, you’ll find something ironic with the Lite version.
